This year we spent New Year’s Eve at Mountain Plaza Hotel Davos (@mountainresortsdavos).
The hotel has good fittings, and the view from the balcony is truly beautiful. However, from our experience, several aspects of the stay did not meet expectations.
Upon arrival, some basic amenities such as soap and shampoo were not available in the room, and it required multiple calls and a wait of approximately two hours for these to be provided. There was also only one bathrobe prepared for two guests, which again required an additional request.
Prior to arrival, we contacted the hotel to confirm whether it would be possible to charge an electric vehicle on-site. Based on the information provided, we expected this to be available. However, upon arrival, this was not the case, which created some inconvenience, and no alternative arrangement was offered.
The room itself felt relatively compact, with no minibar and an empty refrigerator.
On New Year’s Eve, after 2:00 am, the bar service was no longer available, which meant it was not possible to order drinks to the room at that time.
One of the more uncomfortable moments occurred in the morning, when a staff member entered the room without prior notice while I was not dressed. This may have been a misunderstanding, but it affected the overall impression of privacy.
The restaurant experience also did not meet expectations in terms of service, based on our visit.
Overall, while the location and views are very attractive, the experience felt inconsistent and did not fully reflect the level anticipated.
