Skiing in Andermatt — Learning the Slopes of the Swiss Alps

I almost crashed the group of people on the slope. Luckily, the people who survived my almost-collision were quite relaxed about it. One of them came up to me and joked: “Oh, you have the same skis as I.”And I answered: “Yes… but I’m probably not skiing them the same way.”😁I came to Andermatt to continue improving my skiing. When we arrived, there was African dust in the air, so the whole landscape had this soft yellow blur. The light and the mountains looked different, giving the scenery a very unusual atmosphere. On the first day we stayed on the slopes just above Andermatt. But honestly, for me they felt a bit too steep. Since I’m still learning and I do have a fear of heights, seeing a sharp drop next to the slope makes it harder to relax and focus on skiing. The next day we took the train to Dieni, about 40 minutes away by train and that turned out to be a much better place for me. The slopes felt more comfortable and perfect for practicing. So if you’re still building confidence on skis, this area might actually be the better choice.
